This is one of the most common questions we get, and it’s worth addressing publicly because there’s a big difference between quick-sales, random ads, and reputable, ethical breeders.
Before we talk numbers, let’s be clear a responsible breeder invests heavily in
✔ Health testing.
✔ Vet care and early vaccines.
✔ Socialization.
✔ Registration and contracts.
✔ Genetics and long-term planning.
✔ Raising kittens in safe, fruitful home environments with dedicated play and outside spaces.
That investment is reflected in the placement fee and that’s a good thing.
General price ranges people see from reputable breeders (UK):
- Pet-quality kittens from trustworthy programs typically fall iin to the £500 – £1700 range — often around what serious breeders charge for healthy, well-raised kittens from tested parents.
- Some breeders, especially those with exceptional lines, rare colors, or additional guarantees — may price higher within that range.
- Breeders who include extensive testing, lifetime support, pedigree registration, and vet records often price at the upper end because of that built-in value and reassurance.
- As well as Registered pure bred kittens we also offer Ragalike and Ragcoon kittens, these kittens come from genetically tested, registered cats. The price is less than a pure Ragdoll or Maine Coon due to the cross breeding although both are accepted sub breeds but they cannot be registered.
- We offer both Registered and Unregistered kittens. This is because we want the breed to be as accessible as possible to the public, this does not mean you will receive a sub-standard kitten, the kittens come from the same cats but without registration papers. They receive exactly the same upbringing as our other kittens.
Why prices aren’t “cheap”.
Because the real cost of breeding ethically — not casually — includes:
✔ comprehensive genetic and health testing to ensure the kittens and parents do not carry common illnesses that effect the breed.
✔ quality nutrition and enriched early environments. All our kittens enjoy a high protein dry and wet diet.
✔ socialization with people and homes in mind, they are exposed to children, other animals, mainly dogs and a busy household.
✔ structured application and screening processes. When applying for one of our kittens it is not a given you will get one. We will research you and your requirements to find a kitten that will match you and ensure you will match the kitten.
✔ veterinarian care from birth through placement. We are like family with our Vets. Two Counties Vets in Doncaster offer ethical, reliable treatment where the kittens are at the centre of any care required.
Cheap kittens often come with risk:
Limited testing
Unknown health history
Poor to no socialization
Lack of contracts, no protection for you if it goes wrong.
Little to no support after you take your furbaby home.
