What’s Behind the Price?

We’re often asked why our prices sit where they do, and it’s a fair question — there’s a real difference between quick sales and reputable, ethical breeding.

A responsible breeder invests in health testing, vet care and vaccines, socialisation, registration and contracts, and sound genetics and long-term planning. Kittens are raised in safe, enriched home environments with dedicated play and outdoor space. That investment is reflected in the placement fee.

In the UK, pet-quality kittens from trustworthy programs typically range from £500–£1,700. Breeders with rare colours, exceptional lines, or extra guarantees may price toward the top of that range; extensive testing, lifetime support, pedigree registration, and full vet records also tend to push prices higher, because of the value and reassurance built in.

Alongside our registered pedigree kittens, we also offer Ragalike and RagCoon kittens. These come from the same genetically tested, registered cats, but as accepted cross-bred sub-breeds they can’t be registered — so they’re priced lower than a pure Ragdoll or Maine Coon.

We offer both registered and unregistered kittens so the breed stays accessible. Unregistered kittens come from the same cats and receive exactly the same upbringing — they simply don’t come with registration papers.

Why we don’t price cheap:

Ethical breeding costs more, and that cost covers comprehensive genetic and health testing, quality nutrition (all kittens are raised on a high-protein wet and dry diet), early socialisation with children, other animals, and a busy household, a proper application and screening process to match kitten and owner, and veterinary care from birth through placement — we work closely with Two Counties Vets in Doncaster throughout.

Cheap kittens often carry hidden risk: limited testing, unknown health history, poor socialisation, no contract to protect you, little support afterwards, and — increasingly — scammers.

With Purrfect Paws Ragdolls and BushyTailz Maine Coons, you’re paying for a healthy kitten, proper vet care, registration paperwork, ongoing support, and a contract that protects you as much as it protects the breed.

We think our kittens speak for themselves.
